Who could forget their high school prom? I have some of the best memories of my prom years. I say years because I did go all 4 years that I was in high school. As an underclassman I was asked by a Jr or Sr, then my Jr and Sr years, I did the asking. All 4 of my proms are memories I will cherish forever, as a kid this age should.

Unfortunately, last year, because of COVID, (anyone tired of hearing these words?) many high school students did not have the prom or even graduation experience I'm sure they would have loved to have. BUT, this year, Midland ISD has made the announcement that proms and graduations ARE going to happen! Happy dance time!

The district announced that for the first time ever, graduation ceremonies for both Midland High and Lee High schools will take place at Grande Comm Stadium. Here are the scheduled dates for both:

  • Midland Lee Highschool-Thursday May 27th at 8:30 pm
  • MIdland Highschool-Friday May 28th at 8:30 pm (in the event of bad weather, the make-up day would be Saturday May 29th)

MISD officials also stated that, 'each student will have at least four to six tickets for family members wanting to attend graduation ceremonies'

It was also announced that both schools proms will take place this year. Midland Lee's prom will take place on Saturday, April 17th at the Bush Convention Center, while Midland High's prom will also take place at the Bush Convention Center but on Saturday May 1st.
