Watch Out Speeders! Odessa Police Are Cracking Down!

The city of Odessa has had enough of racing and reckless driving on city streets and they are about to start cracking down on drivers attempting to do so. Corporal Steve LeSueur says over 75 arrests have been made this year for reckless driving and racing. 

Gone are the days of getting just a ticket or a fine, now you could spend up to 90 days in jail plus fines. Anyone going over 25 miles per hour would be arrested for reckless driving, 25 or less will receive a citation, which is, in my opinion, just as serious. For those of us with teenagers who have a license, now may be the time to sit them down and tell them the danger of racing and more importantly getting caught or hurt or hurting others.
