So quite literally as my title states, we may not realize it but we are very fortunate to live in the second largest state in the US, for a number of reasons. Friendly people, great restaurants, vacation spots and so on and so forth. I came to love and appreciate my great state all over again after conversing with someone who recently moved to this country.

Tomorrow is going to be hot! Meteorologists are forecasting a high temperature of 100 degrees, which if reached, will match the record from back in 2009. This is well above the average of 81 degrees that we normally see during this time of year...

One day into Spring and you know what sounds so good now that the temperatures outdoors are much warmer? Ice cream! I scream you scream we all scream for ice cream. You are never too old for that little diddy and definitely never too old for ice cream for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Fish falling from the sky? It can happen.

My momma would be so proud. Who remembers growing up using Vicks Vapo-ruuuu for everything? If I woke up with a sore throat, Vicks. If I started coughing, Vicks. If my head hurt Vicks. I would have to rub it on my temples. No lie. Mexican mommas didn't mess around and there was always a jar of Vicks somewhere around the house at any given time. How did that stuff never run out? lol

It's that time of year! Colder temps will be hitting the 432 soon with the holidays right around the corner. We felt it a little bit last week when overnight temps got into the 40's but colder days are coming and for those of you who may be spending your very first winter here with us in West Texas let me lay down a few ground rules for cold weather attire.

Ummm I thought Megan Thee Stallion said this was supposed to be a 'hot girl summer?' Someone forgot to pass those lyrics on to Mother Nature! lol This summer has been anything but hot. We have had more rainy days and temps below average this summer than any summer I can remember.

Now that spring is here, it has definitely brought us some April showers. This week for sure, we are expecting rain until this time next week actually. We have at the very least a 20% chance of showers everyday this week and I am here for it! How does the saying go? 'April showers bring May flowers...' Then I better get to planting.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but it looks as if it's going to be a very cold Valentine's Day 2021 this year. Sunday is Valentine's Day and in case you couldn't tell, a cold front has moved into the area. We are bracing for way colder temps for the end of the week and especially for the weekend.

You know it is very rare that we get several days with beautiful weather in the beginning of February. I mean it is still winter! What have you done to enjoy these past few days with temps in the 70s and yesterday 80°? I've seen many people out and about at the park with kids or the whole family just enjoying getting some warm sunshine.
