Vaccine mandates in Texas aren't supposed to be happening and now the Texas Workforce Commission is reaching out to Texas employers reminding them that vaccine mandates are illegal and that they can not be imposed on an employee who qualifies for an exemption for personal, religious, or medical reasons...
Just when we thought we might be in the clear with COVID and were beginning to get comfortable not wearing masks in public, apparently there is a new 'variant' we've all been hearing about. According to the Centers for Disease Control or CDC and new data, the Delta variant is a more contagious strain.
Ever since the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced recently that those who are fully vaccinated can stop wearing masks outdoors and in many indoor settings, many big name retailers are becoming more lax about customers wearing masks in their stores.
A few weeks ago I wrote an article, about how the FDA was trying to get the COVID vaccine approved for young teens. Children age 12 and older in Midland will now get that opportunity if their parents want them to have it. (Covid 19 vaccine)
This caught my attention real quick as the mother of a 14 year old. Apparently, Pfizer is waiting on the 'go-ahead' to begin vaccinating kids. Let me start by saying, I did choose to get the vaccine. For my safety and that of my children, I have now had both of my shots and I've got my little COVID vaccine card put away. (if you did wonderful if you chose not to that's great too)
Almost 20% of people in Texas have been vaccinated with the number rising daily. Hospitals throughout the 4-3-2 have done an excellent job getting those who wish to be vaccinated their shots in recent weeks. Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson all have a vaccine for COVID-19. If you, your family members or coworkers have not yet received your vaccine but with to do so, you have an opportunit
I would be lying if I said the fact that I got both COVID vaccines had nothing to do with the fact that I wanted to be able to travel quicker. In fact, as soon as I saw an article recently that mentioned something about needing to be vaccinated to get on a cruise ship, that helped make up my mind. I was initially 'on the fence.'
COVID vaccines have been rolling out for quite some time now and many people took full advantage of getting their first shot. Some will even be getting the 2nd one soon. In case you have not had the chance yet for either, just know that Medical Center Health System has received a new shipment of Pfizer vaccines and is ready to go with more.
So apparently vaccines rolled out by the thousands this week here in the 432. I actually wrote a story last week about how all this week those in Phase1A and Phase 1B were going to be able to receive the COVID vaccine. Here we are end of the week and I've been keeping track of Medical Center Hospital's Facebook page and they have been doing an incredible job getting everyone taken care of!
