COVID Vaccine Available To Midland Students Beginning Next Week
A few weeks ago I wrote an article, about how the FDA was trying to get the COVID vaccine approved for young teens. Children age 12 and older in Midland will now get that opportunity if their parents want them to have it. (Covid 19 vaccine)
MISD has announced that they are working with pediatric practices to have the vaccine available for various schools around town:
Monday May 17th-Abell Junior High
Tuesday May 18th-San Jacinto Junior High and Alamo Junior High
Monday May 24th-Goddard Junior High
Tuesday May 25th- Lee Freshman High School
Wednesday May 26th-Midland Freshman High School
Midland parents should already have received a note from their child's school with all the information and parents are to complete a form and arrive with their child/student if they are between the age of 12-17. A parent must remain with the student at the time they are to receive the vaccine and appointments are encouraged.
Keep in mind that the vaccination clinic for children is strictly optional and in no way is a parent obligated to have the vaccine administered to their child. The above mentioned clinics will take place from 4:30 until 6:30 pm on the designated days.
