Is There Truth To The Rumor That Kids In Midland-Odessa May Homeschool Again This Year Due To COVID?
I heard a rumor recently that I must know if it is true. I was having a chat with some other mom friend's and one of them said she 'heard' that because of the new Omicron variant of COVID and resurgence in cases here locally, it may only be a matter of time before our kids homeschool once again. I got 2020 flashbacks and I do not like it one bit.
Turns out I am not a good homeschool teacher, not to mention, 3rd grade math is hard. (insert sad face emoji here) Either way, unfortunately COVID has not gone away. Omicron is here, we are hearing of 'flurona' now and many people are sick.
Hospitals are filling up again and I think we all know of several people we know who are currently ill. Masks are highly recommended in public places but are not required. At my children's schools they are not wearing them.
Thoughts? Anyone know if there is any truth to this rumor? Because to be honest for now that is all it is. Have any schools eluded to this possibly becoming a reality once again?
I've asked around and no one knows or has heard anything. How would you feel if your kids were sent home once again to finish out this school year on Zoom from home?
