Friend Put A Gift Registry Link For 30th Birthday Party And I Think She’s Tacky

Leo and Rebecca Buzz Question - Just GOT an invitation to one of our good friends BIRTHDAY PARTY. She is turning 30 and having a big party. Well, on the invitation she put ONLY ACCEPTING GIFTS FROM THIS REGISTRY LINK.  So, apparently I can't just show up with a random gift I get her? My husband says she is CRAZY and we shouldn't take anything. WOW. Are we obligated to get the gift ONLY form her registry? This isn't a wedding? This is a baby shower? It's just her birthday.. right?
