Everyone has a hidden talent. Even if they don't know they do. Mine actually ended up getting me a job in radio and in voice acting, so I guess you could say I'm pretty fortunate. I actually get to do something I love doing and showcase my talent. I do however remember what it was like before I was so lucky. It kind of sucked. It felt like there was this part of me I had to get out...so I did.

I was always fairly clever with my wording of things and I have an OK speaking voice so I started doing dumb videos on YouTube. Strangely enough, I never once growing up thought about being in radio. I mean, it made perfect sense once I got here, but not once did I think to do it. Those videos lead to a friend asking me to be on his podcast. This was before podcasting was so big. I actually had to ask him what a podcast was lol. We did the podcast for about 2 years every week without exception. One day, I got a phone call asking if I'd like to do "Dear Asshole" (the name of a segment I did on the podcast) on the radio. I ended up doing 220 episodes of Dear Asshole on KBAT until finally it was time to let it go. By that time I already had a full time job in radio. It all happened because I worked little by little to showcase my hidden talent.

Now I wanna know what yours is. Then I want to you to make yourself a promise. Do something every week to showcase it in some way. Make time and do what you love doing at least once a week. You never know, you could get lucky and get a tiny chance like I did, and work your ass off to make something out of that tiny chance. Life is too short to hate your job.
