What is Revenge Porn and Why Is It Illegal In California?

Just a read an article where REVENGE PORN has just been outlawed in California. Can I say that I have never heard the term 'REVENGE PORN' until now. So basically it's when a couple split and either one of them gets ticked off and places a picture or video of their partner naked on the web without their permission. They probably took the pic with their phone but NOW that their is some trouble in paradise, they decide to get BACK AT THEM by putting the pic on the web. Back in the day, before internet and facebook people would just burn their ex's clothes, or key their car, or date their best friend for revenge. I guess times have changed so much that their is now a law in California for it.  What do you think of the new law in California and should it be passed in all states?
