Discover 3 Surprising Texas Inventions That Shaped Modern Technology
In my opinion, Texas is the best state. What's not to love? The stunning sunsets, the beautiful summers, the friendly folks, the great food. But just when you think you know all there is to know about a state where you were born and raised, think again. I recently learned 3 of the greatest things ever invented come from our fabulous Lone Star State.
For instance, I came across a page recently browsing the internet that mentioned a few things that were invented in Texas that I never even knew!
DID YOU KNOW THESE THINGS WERE INVENTED IN TEXAS?
1. Dell Computers-I am currently typing this article on one. I cannot believe I never knew they were invented here! According to txpatentattorney.com,
Michael Dell, a student at the University of Texas, started his company when he began selling personal computers from his dorm room.
2. Breast Implants-apparently back in 1962, two men from Houston, Thomas Cronin and Frank Gerow invented silicone breast implants. Thank you kind sirs for this fabulous invention. 😉
3. Dr. Pepper-this one I did know because I love me some DP! Let's be real, most Texans do, it's almost a sin not to! It is one of America's favorite sodas and was invented in Waco, TX by a pharmacist named Charles Alderton in 1885.
Props to our great state being the birthplace of some of the greatest inventions ever!
