I love going to the movies. Anyone who knows me would know that if you ask about a movie that has just come out in theaters, more than likely I've seen it and can tell you all about it. I'm not even partial to a particular genre. I'm pretty much down for a rom-com, drama, comedy or musical any day. Horror not so much.

So recently I decided I wanted to watch the movie Dear Evan Hansen. They previewed it on one of my favorite reality shows Big Brother. I had wanted to watch ever since they showed it. It popped up in ads anytime I was on the internet and I saw the trailer while I was watching tv several times. The movie studio did an excellent job marketing this movie.

It helped that it starred several big name actors. Ben Platt, Amy Adams, Julianne Moore. Plus, I knew it was a musical. As a fan of any and all music, I love musicals and Ben Platt is a great singer. I had already heard his voice in Pitch Perfect, one of my favorite movies.

This movie was so good. It is definitely for mature audiences only as it contains sensitive material but if you have teens, you should watch with them. I cried.

Watch the trailer if you haven't seen it already and see if it is a good fit for you and your older children. I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed it.
