San Antonio, Texas --  Mass shootings in the United States are, unfortunately, nothing new.  Every year, we see people take it upon themselves to cause mass panic along with loss of life by shooting on school premises.  Recently, a mass shooting was prevented in San Antonio, Texas.  When police released details on the thwarted mass shooting, it left residents and school officials shocked.

The Plot

It was alleged that the son of Ashley Pardo, 33, had shown up to Rhodes Middle School in San Antonio, Texas, earlier this week wearing a mask, camo pants, and tactical gear with full intent on causing a mass shooting.  For whatever reason, the student (whose name is withheld because he is a minor) did not go through with the attack and left the campus.  School police caught wind of the attack, and the student was later found off campus and arrested.  He was eventually charged with terrorism.

The Conspiracy

While this was fortunate that this attack did not happen, it was later learned by police that the students' mother encouraged the attack.  She even purchased the weapon and tactical gear as a reward to her son in exchange for babysitting his siblings.  Police are saying that she had knowledge of the attack and what her son had planned on doing.

A Plot Unraveled

The day before the alleged attack happened, a family member had come across the rifle, pistol, ammunition, and other gear along with a note mentioning the shooting.  The family member then contacted the San Antonio Police.  This was how they had forewarning about the student's intentions.

Luckily, this ended the way it did because it could have been a lot worse.
