My Top Five Memorable Places in Midland / Odessa

As strange and as alien as I sound on the air most of the time, believe it or not, I grew up right here in Midland/Odessa. I went to both OHS and MHS and was born right here in Midland Memorial.

I’d like to share with you my top 5 places that made my childhood memories as a native Basin Brochacho. Some of these places have strange connections to my memory and some don’t even exist anymore. What can I say, I was a strange kid.

The Underground
This was where I spent almost every weekend of my teenage life. It was a sanctuary for misfits and metal heads in Midland. It’s also where I met my son’s mother. Unfortunately, it shut down years ago.
Discovery Zone
C’mon! It was easily the greatest place for a kid to go crazy EVER!!
Peter Piper Pizza
You can bet that when my grade card showed all good grades that was my go to celebratory destination.
Shady Acres
A utopia of dreams where only the best of the best mini golf players roamed in search of the fabled “free round 18^th hole”
Midland Park Lanes
Sadly, this is where Brizzown lost his virginity at the ripe old age of 15. A very hot goth girl named Miranda, an extremely ballsy move on my part, and loose morals on both our parts lead to what I can only describe as the greatest 30 seconds of her life. So I assume. I never heard from her again so I can only assume she still dreams about it. There were no cell phones in those days and I lost the damn scrap of paper I wrote her number on.
