KLAQ has had 3 different studios over its lifetime, this video features studio #2 as well as some old friends. Several of them sadly, are gone - one we lost fairly recently ...
We're at that point in the year when, back in the day, we would have been gearing up ... or already buried in ... the KLAQ/El Paso Downtown Street Festival. Here's a flashback.
Your first Father-Daughter dance is packed full of memories. Omigosh I think I was about 7 or 8 and I distinctly remember being so excited about it! I was in Girl Scouts and when they announced that we would be having a father-daughter dance I immediately went home that day, told my daddy about it and he said yes we will go! A girl's first love and first Valentine, her daddy.
Who remembers? On this Flashback Friday I had to take a trip down memory lane to my highschool days. Who has fond memories of your school locker? I remember when I first found out that my kids didn't use lockers anymore I was devastated. What? No locker? That's blasphemous! It's a rite of passage into your teen years. lol
Growing up, I distinctly remember running around the house doing what little girl's do. Helping mom in the kitchen, heading outside to hit up the neighborhood kids and see who wanted to come out and play, then heading back home again when I was tired or hungry. My mom would be finishing up a meal and would tell me to go outside and tell my dad the food was ready.
Stop it right now! Stop what you're doing and tell me this does not remind you of your abuela? I cannot remember the last I saw a can of these cookies! If you did not have this variety tin of 'butter cookies' growing up, did you even have a childhood?
Who remembers CD's? Picture little Rebecca begging my mom and dad to buy me some to go in my CD player. It took quite a bit of convincing but it finally happened and this was one of my very first. On this Flashback Friday, let's take a trip down memory lane and think about some of the CD's you ever owned or bought with birthday or Christmas money.
OOOOH this song popped up on my playlist and took me back immediately down memory lane! I remember cruisin' up and down main street in my hometown in my friend's Mustang convertible, top down, singing at the top of our lungs, not a care in the world.
OMG if this doesn't bring back childhood memories! When is the last time you had a Slush Puppie? Growing up I was either treated to a Slush Puppie, a Slurpee or an ICEE on road trips! 1 was like a slush, this Slush Puppie was icy like a snow cone. One thing I cannot remember however is...
It is Valentine's Day, so much to look forward to today! Is your better half going to send you flowers? Will you be treated to a nice dinner? Maybe a box of heart shaped chocolates? My 3 year old brought up something rather interesting when she asked if I would get Valentine's at work?
