Tuna lovers in Texas, there has been a huge recall and you could have some at home.
What to Know About the Tuna Recall
A voluntary recall was announced by Tri-Union Seafoods in Texas. The reason for the recall was because of a can defect that could potentially cause botulism contamination.
Botulism contamination is an aggressive form of food poisoning that could be fatal. The recall was issued on February 7th and shared on the US Food and Drug Administration website on February 10th.
The recall is for tuna sold under Van Camp's, Trader Joe's, Genova, and H-E-B brand names.

Where the Recalled Tuna was Sold In Texas
The product was recalled across multiple states. The main stores in the Lonestar State to distribute the tuna are H-E-B and Walmart.
The names and descriptions of products in Texas impacted are:
- Genova Yellowfin Tuna in Olive Oil 5.0 oz
- Genova Yellowfin Tuna in Olive Oil 5.0 oz 4 Pack
- Genova Solid White Tuna in Olive Oil 5.0 oz
- H-E-B Solid White Tuna in Water 5.0 oz 4 Pack
How to Check Your Tuna at Home
