How are we already half way through the summer and I haven't even taken a real vacation yet? Does anyone else feel like this year is flying by? I saw a meme earlier that said now that the Fourth of July is over, Happy Turkey Day, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! That could not be more true.

I could swear that the Easter Bunny was just hiding Easter eggs for my babies and now here we are trying to take time off from work to squeeze in last minute vacations, get back home and start preparing for school. It doesn't help that anytime I hit up a store, I either run into school supplies already out on shelves or school uniforms staring me in the face. Don't remind me, it is a little over a month away!

Does anyone remember the good old days when we had 3 full months of a summer vacation and the holiday we dreaded was Labor Day in September because that meant that immediately after, we would be headed back to school? Kids these days just don't know and it makes me sad.

Aside from our kids needing a break, momma needs a break. From homework, from afterschool activities, from sports (just a small breather) and extracurricular activities that take place during the school year. Don't blink folks, summer is almost over and before you know it, we will be into the holiday season again. I guess I better get to Christmas shopping. Smh.
