Pickle lovers who live in Midland-Odessa may have heard about the new promotion from Sonic, where they are bringing back their pickle slushie.  The original pickle slushie from Sonic was a huge hit all around the country, and then suddenly, it was discontinued.

New Sonic Pickle Promotion

Sonic has teamed up with Grillo's Pickles to announce the "Big Dill Meal".  It appears to be a classic double sonic burger with a generous amount of Grillo's Pickles inside it.  Customers also have the option of seasoning their fries with a pickle seasoning (for extra money) to give the patron the ultimate pickle-infused meal.  On top of that, they have reimagined the original pickle slush by flavoring it with Grillo's Pickles.  One major difference from the original is that there is pickle-flavored boba on the bottom of the pickle slush.

The Sonic experience was not bad per se; however, I wanted to compare it to a local establishment.

In my personal opinion, the visuals alone of these two side-by-side easily go to Typickle Pickles.  The size alone is the biggest difference.  The Sonic burger was good, but it simply tasted like a Sonic burger with Grillo's Pickles.

Sonic Pickle Flavor Fries VS Typickle Pickle Fried Pickles

The Sonic fries were simply regular Sonic fries infused with a special dill flavor.  I found them to be quite delicious; however, this was mainly seasoning.  The Typickle Pickle fried pickle was incredible.

Sonic Grillo's Pickles Slushie VS Typickle Pickle's Pickle Lemonade

I was excited for the return of the Sonic pickle slush. However, the 2025 variant was somewhat different.  There were pickle chips inside the drink, and it came with pickle-flavored boba at the bottom. The pickle-flavored lemonade was amazing. I've never tasted anything like it, and needless to say, I am a fan!

Conclusion

To me, there is a clear winner.  Typickle Pickles is a hidden gem that the people of Midland-Odessa need to experience.  Every aspect, ranging from visual presentation to taste clearly beats the more popular Sonic Drive-In.  However, don't take my word for it.  Try it for yourself and you be the judge!
