The Craziest Old Wives Tales I’ve Heard…
There are old wives tales and there are pregnancy old wives tales. Since we found out we were expecting, I have heard them all. And some are doozies! lol
The other day my mother noticed I was scratching my itchy belly and told me to stop or it would leave stretch marks. Say what? Or how about when I complained about having heartburn, someone told me, 'that means your baby is going to be born with alot of hair.' Gotta love those old wives tales. Here are some other crazy ones I've heard:
#1:Umbilical cord-if a pregnant lady lifts her hands above her head, or stretches she will choke the baby because the umbilical cord will wrap around him or her.
#2:Cravings-if anyone denies a pregnant woman what she is craving, they will get a sty in their eye
#3:Ugly-if a pregnant woman sees something ugly, she will have an ugly baby. I've also heard whoever the pregnant woman is 'mad' at throughout her pregnancy, the baby will end up looking like that person. Angelina Jolie ticked me off the other day.....lol
#4:Shape of belly-many people believe if you are carrying your baby high with a big, round belly you are having a girl. If you are carrying low with a smaller belly that sticks out, it's a boy!
#5:Time of Conception-the person that is the most aggressive in bed at the time of conception is the opposite of what the baby will be. Props to dad, they say it's a girl! lol
