Watch out 432! Midland police will soon be cracking down on people who are texting while driving.

According to our media partners at Newswest 9, the Midland City Council have passed the texting and driving ban that will go into effect on October 1.

The ban says that you can’t use a wireless communication device to view, send, or compose an electronic message, or engage other application software apps while operating a motor vehicle on a public roadway.

You can still make a phone call or use a GPS device while driving, but if you’re caught texting and driving, you could be fined $500!!!

Paying half a grand for a text is one thing, but keeping your eyes on the road rather than your phone could also save your life.
