Construction in Midland-Odessa, it never really seems to end, does it?  The Texas Department of Transportation otherwise known as TXDOT, has issued a 424 million dollar renovation to I-20 that they claim will bring "significant improvements" once construction is completed.

The project, which includes an 11-mile stretch of I-20 began in 2024 and will not likely be completed until well into 2026 or later if delays derail the initial timeline.  Earlier this year construction began on repairing the frontage roads of I-20 and is expected to be completed by Summer of 2025.

Another major phase of the project for new I-20 interchanges with Faudree Road, CR 1300, and CR 1260 is scheduled to begin later in 2025.

Locals have no other choice but to wait until all construction in our area is essentially completed.  However, that does not mean there hasn't been memes posted on social media about how frustrating the whole ordeal can be.

To some residents, this is just another construction project that they have to deal with in an almost never-ending ordeal.
