While more popular pizza chains such as Pizza Hut, Dominos, or even Papa Johns continue to thrive in 2025, there are those individuals who would much rather prefer pizzerias that are not large chain restaurants.

Luckily, in the Permian Basin there are multiple options to choose from in case you run into what one Dominios marketing campaign dubbed as a "Pizza Emergency".

With 6 locations overall, we are lucky enough to have a location for Cork and Pig Tavern in both Midland and Odessa.  Mostly known for salads, sandwiches, and their famous wood-fired pizza.  This is definitely a place that needs to be on anyone's Permain Basin pizza tour. One local described Cork and Pig Tavern to me as a place that has never given them a bad experience.

2.) Papa Murphy's

One nontraditional menu item that Papa Murphy's is serving up is a dairy-free cheese pizza.  This can be a shocking pleasant surprise to anyone who is effected by consuming dairy products. Aside from that they also offer specialty pizzas and even calzones.  However, one unique item they offer is a Keo-based pizza for the more health-conscious pizza lover.
