What did you get mom for mother’s day? I personally went with the “make mama cry with touching words” approach.  NAILED IT!! LOL

It’s rarely a good thing to make your mom cry but in this case she was deeply touched. My mother has always told me I was talented at things no matter what it was. If you’ve ever head me in the afternoons on B93, I’m betting you could only imagine that I was NOT always an easy kid to deal with.

Even when I was doing things that no one would be proud of, my mom always found a way to brag about me. She’s always known I belonged entertaining people and has supported it as long as I can remember. Not once has she ever told me to “get a real job” or “when are you gonna grow up?”

The only time I ever truly smile is when I’m making someone else smile. She’s seen this since I was a little boy and if I’m happy that’s really all that ever mattered to her. To all you concerned mothers out there I leave you with this. Thank you for loving us, supporting us, and tanning our hides as needed.

Trust me, if it weren’t for my mama taking a belt to my butt from time to time, I wouldn’t have made it. Teenage hormones and childhood curiosity are one heck of a lot more powerful than any timeout or a grounding ever thought about being and nothing reminds you that you can’t always do what just pops into your head like a hind end with a mothers concern written all over it.
