October is almost here. We are a couple of days away and while yes it is Halloween month, it is also the beginning of Oktoberfest! What is Oktoberfest? Are there any Oktoberfest festivities going on in West Texas? I've got all the answers for you.

WHAT IS OKTOBERFEST?

Oktoberfest is a German festival that is celebrated for multiple days anywhere between  late September to the first Sunday in October and lots of beer is consumed.

For this reason, breweries typically get in on the celebration that feature music, dancing and dressing up in folk costumes.

WHERE ARE THE OKTOBERFEST FESTIVITIES IN THE 432?

Tall City Brewing Co. will serve German-style food from various food trucks including Basin Dickson BBQ, Jeronimo’s Street Side Diner and Down South Seafood and others. Know how to yodel? Show your skills in the yodeling contest and be a part of other games and fun! By the way, if you show up in Oktoberfest swag, you will receive a 10% discount. Ladies, pull out your beer maid dresses!

There will be beer specials and a new beer will even be debuted during this event. Oktoberfest kicks off at noon Friday, Oct. 1st and ends at 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3rd at Tall City Brewing Co, 3303 W. Golf Course Rd in Midland.
