Dangerous Cold Weather Expected To Move Into Midland-Odessa, Texas
Residents of Midland-Odessa, Texas are no strangers to blistering cold weather. In previous years, cold weather in mid-February was easily expected. However, already having experienced 80+ degree weather multiple times in 2025, it's likely some of us living in the Permian Basin did not expect the cold to return. Well, unfortunately, it's back.

According to Weather.com, dangerously cold weather is moving into the area beginning Tuesday night through Thursday with temperatures expected to 0° to 10° in some areas with a wind chill of -5° to 0°.
An Extreme Cold Warning has been issued for much of the Permian Basin and a Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for much of the Trans-Pecos & Southwestern parts of the Permian Basin.
It is advised to bundle up in multiple layers, drip your faucets to avoid pipes freezing up, and bring in any outdoor animals during this time.
