Midland, Texas --  I feel sometimes the people of the Permian Basin have a bad reputation.  Before moving here, people would tell me stereotypes of how mean and nasty the people of the 432 are.  Since moving here, I have seen so much kindness.  I even wrote an article on some of the kindness I've witnessed firsthand since moving to Midland-Odessa.  👉Click Here To See Article👈

Last week, 65-year-old Doug Hays was walking out of the unemployment office when he took a tumble while on the street.  Mr. Hays then faceplanted into the curb and started to bleed profusely.  He mentioned he did not know how long he lay there until a young man who appeared to be in college came to his rescue.  The young man carried him off the street and onto the sidewalk and called the paramedics.  He then waited for help to arrive while Mr. Hays was in and out of consciousness.  Upon their arrival, the young man continued to speak to E.M.S. on Mr. Hays behalf to ensure he was okay.

Mr. Hays lost a lot of blood, had the entire right side of his face bruised, and even lost a few teeth.  However, luckily, he was alive.  It can be said that the young stranger contributed to saving Mr. Hays' life.  This could not have come at a worse time since Mr. Hays has been struggling to find work, and now is forced to wait even longer to return to the workforce since he has to recover from his ordeal.

Now that things are slowly starting to return to some normalcy, Cali Hays, the daughter of Doug Hays, wants to find the kind man so she can thank him for rescuing her father.  She mentioned that she reached out to just about all media outlets, and no one responded to her.  (Well, except for me)  She even went online to try and make Facebook and other social media posts about the story, but it did not gain any traction.

Let's help Ms. Hays find her dad's rescuer and reunite them.  Does anyone know anything about this mystery hero?  We'd love to connect them.
