You Only Need 3 Things To Be Married In Texas! No Marriage License Or Ceremony Required
Have I mentioned this week how much I love TikTok? I have learned more recipes, tips, and tricks about just about anything that I've ever wanted to know from the 'short-form video' platform. I now know how to get rid of pesky mosquitoes effectively when summer hits. I have tried making more baked goods and have learned some very healthy recipes thanks to TikTok.
Many of us enjoy scrolling through TikTok for things that we are interested in learning more about. Since I started writing these articles a few years back I enjoy sharing with you all the things I learn about that you may be interested in, including this little tidbit of info.
Did you know that you do not need a marriage license or a wedding ceremony to be considered legally married in Texas?
THREE THINGS YOU NEED TO BE CONSIDERED LEGALLY MARRIED IN TEXAS:
1. According to TikToker thepaynelawyer, this is what would be considered 'common law marriage' and for starters, you only need an agreement to be married. Do you agree we are married? Yes. Do you agree we are married? I do, too. Boom, then that's all we need. Wow. Who knew?
2. Living together is the second thing you need. Basically, you are living as a married couple, more than likely sharing bills and bank accounts, what more do you need?
3. Representing to others that you are married. Head to Walmart, grab yourself a couple of popular silicon wedding bands and live happily ever after!
