Along with the rest of the world, every July 2, the people of Midland-Odessa celebrate what has been dubbed "World UFO Day". World UFO Day takes place every July 2nd, which is the anniversary of the infamous incident that happened back in 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico.

According to the National UFO Reporting Center, a site where UFO sightings can be reported and tracked, the Permian Basin has had a steady number of UFO reports, ranging from strange lights, fast-moving objects, and aerial phenomena.

Much of West Texas has experienced overcast and rainy weather, so it likely isn't going to be a clear night for sky watching. That doesn't mean you cannot celebrate in your own way. Here are some ideas to celebrate World UFO Day.
