With Thanksgiving 15 Days Away What Is Your Favorite Thanksgiving Side Dish?
Thanksgiving is 15 days away! Some might say Christmas, but I say Thanksgiving is my personal favorite holiday. I mean, I love food for starters, I have much to be thankful for, I love watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on TV, it is a longstanding tradition and I love gathering with family to eat, watch football and just be together.
However, I was curious to know how other families feel about the meals itself, I looked it up and this is what I discovered.
90% of Americans eat turkey on Thanksgiving and for that I am thankful because I would be highly disappointed if that were not the case. In terms of sides, however, the 4 Thanksgiving 'trimming's' people eat are rather similar to my personal favorites.
I love mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, the dressing, and cranberry sauce. But not everyone does.
For example, the top 4 food items that the majority of Americans say are their favorite are:
- stuffing
- mashed potatoes
- cranberry sauce
- pumpkin pie
Not exactly what I was expecting but I love it! I do believe in my family, I am the ONLY person who touches the cranberry sauce and I happen to the be the baker in the family so I hope everyone loves my pumpkin pies every year!
One thing I had never had before as a side dish at Thanksgiving is deviled eggs but we had it at our work Friendsgiving meal one year and now it is a must.
Which side dish do you always leave off of your Thanksgiving plate?
