Where To Get Delicious Menudo In Odessa, Texas
After living in Odessa, Texas for several weeks, I had developed a huge problem. I hadn't had a good bowl of menudo in months, and the time was right to head out into Odessa to find good menudo that I felt was on par or better than the ones I left back home in San Antonio.

I am still learning my way around Ector County, so I did what anyone else would do in my situation: I searched the Internet for menudo near me. To be honest, this was somewhat risky on my behalf because not everyone serves delicious menudo. We've all had our fair share of bad menudo, and since I really wanted some, I didn't want my first Odessa menudo experience to be bad.
I was on a mission. So I went to several local spots to try and find great menudo in the area.
Mr. Menudo
When I discovered Mr. Menudo, I had to try it. After all, how could I NOT try a place that names their entire restaurant after menudo. Surprisingly, upon entry I noticed that they have a lot more than menudo, but I was already predestined to eat what I went there to eat. So, I tried the menudo. I enjoyed the slight spice, the flavor, and how tender the meat was. I absolutely have to have tortillas to dip into my menudo and when I did that, I was very pleased. This was a bowl I felt was good regardless if you add onion or lime to it. I believe I would had enjoyed it either way.
Gerardo's Mexican Restaurant
The whole vibe here took me back and reminded me of back home in San Antonio. What stood out for me was the broth. I loved how they gave me the option of setting my spice level by placing red pepper flakes at my table. My only gripe here was that I wish the tortillas were a little more fresh but they weren't bad. Beyond that, I felt that this was a solid place to grab a bowl. The broth was delicious and it had just the right amount of hominy.
I wanted to include more spots for delicious menudo in this article. However, eating two bowls of menudo from two places in one morning, it was safe to say that I was stuffed. However, I am still going to stay on the search for great menudo in Odessa. Who knows? This article will likely be updated in the future.
