Highway 191 has been a MESS lately and it will continue to be for a while.
Going into Midland, the construction of the overpass ramp exit continues to go and cause traffic issues. Well, as of last week, the Faudree EXIT into Odessa has been closed off!

• FAUDREE EXIT HEADING INTO ODESSA ON HIGHWAY 191 IS CLOSED FOR NOW!

The week of January 9th, if you are heading West on Highway 191, the FAUDREE Exit Ramp has been closed and a detour has been set up. This CLOSURE is due to the construction and expansion of Faudree Rd in the area.

 

• HEADING WEST TO ODESSA USE THE BILLY HEXT EXIT TO MAKE A U-TURN TO GET TO FAUDREE!

If you are heading WEST into Odessa and want to use the FAUDREE exit, THE DETOUR is the next exit which is the Billy Hext EXIT. You can get off on Billy Hext and use the U-turn lane and head back towards Faudree Rd.

• YOU CAN ALSO USE THE FM 1788 HIGHWAY 191 EXIT RAMP TO GET TO FAUDREE!

You can also use the UT Permian Basin exit at FM 1788 and Highway 191 intersection to get to Faudree. just stay on the frontage ROAD and do not get back on highway 191. The frontage Road will take you to Faudree Rd from this intersection.

• HOW LONG WILL THE FAUDREE EXIT BE CLOSED?

According to the city's website...

Faudree Road traffic will be shifted to the new paved roadway on 1/22/23.  56th Street between Sleepy Hollow St and Faudree Rd will be closed to through traffic for the remainder of this first phase of construction. This first phase of construction will include building the west half of the new Faudree Road between 191 and Windchase Street and is scheduled to be complete by June.
