While I think all Texans like to believe that everything is bigger in Texas, I not only believe it, I quote it on a daily basis from when I go to the drive-thru and order my sweet tea and they asked me "what size?" I always say "everything is bigger in Texas so give me the biggest you got!"

That said, everything is not bigger in Texas, yes I know that is hard to believe. Nonetheless, I just learned from the Only In Your State website that if you want to go live in a small Texas town you're in luck. Texas has hundreds of tiny towns based on its population base, one said town boasts six Texans living there.

Okay, before we get started let's look at how the census numbers have changed. From 2010 to 2021 Harris County reported a growth spurt of over 620,400 people. However, in Potter County, they had the biggest drop in population over 4,700 fewer people.

Let's get started looking for the Tiny Towns of Texas. Finding out where these tiny towns are according to the Census figures, Wikipedia, and Only in Your State. Not all the numbers for the 2020-2021 census are available yet.

10 - Brundage, Texas has a population of 27 people total and it's the 10th tiniest town in Texas located about 100 miles southwest of San Antonio in Dimmit County and is mostly mesquite, cedar, and brushland. The town was founded in 1909 and quickly grew with the addition of the new post office and rail station in 1910. In 1925 and the population dropped because of the drought and by 1945 the post office was gone.

Corral City, began as a mobile home park before it was incorporated in 1973. Today, the town consists of a convenience store and a lone liquor store. Corral City uses the services of a bigger nearby city of Argyle for fire, police, and court services. In 1980 the population was 85, then it decreased to 46 in 1990, and back up to 89 in 2000, and back down in 2010 to an impressive 27 Texans.

Laredo Ranchettes in 2000 had a population of 1,845 people living in Laredo Ranchettes. It's suspected that weather played a big role in the cities downsizing. Over the next 10 years after the population dropped to 22 in 2010.
