A Mural In The Heart Of Downtown Midland

The "Pumpjacks Mural" in Midland is the brainchild of local artist Peter Himmelberg and was painted by Midland Chase Bank employees. The mural itself is a testament to the city's deep-rooted ties to the gas and oil industry.  It also pays homage and displays a show of Midland's love and respect for an industry that plays such a paramount part in its culture.  It has been a staple and a major landmark in downtown Midland since its inception and is located at 400-424 W Illinois Ave.

Best Time To Visit The Mural

Located in the heart of downtown and also in a popular parking lot, during the day, the mural can be seen; however, the view may be obstructed due to the vehicles in the parking lot where the mural is located.  The best time to see the mural unobstructed is after normal business hours or on the weekend when the parking lot is empty.
