Texas Census Data: Men Vs. Women – Who Outnumbers Whom?
Being one of the only girls raised around boy cousins, I learned to be competitive. When all the cousins would reunite as kids we would always play games and teams would be boys vs girls. Girls were always outnumbered but we always made up for it!
I stumbled across the United States Census Bureau webpage and my competitive side came to life. Let's get down to the ultimate competition, are there more men or women in Texas?

If you made it this far then you are as competitive as I am. Texas has a population of about 29,243,342. There is only one state bigger than Texas because we hold the position of second largest state by area. We always say everything is bigger in Texas but not in this case, we came close!
If Texas decided to implement a game where teams were split between women vs men, women would be outnumbered. There are 14,618,704 women to the 14,624,638 men. Ladies this is one we have to take our L on. Don't worry I'm not happy about it either.
Here is a category I am not trying to win; the average age in Texas is 35. People 65 and older make up 13% of the population in the Lone Star State and almost 25% of our population are kids under the age of 18.
Would I consider this a win for the day? No, but this one is a little out of my control. BRB, I'm going to challenge someone in a foot race real quick. I'm sure my 69-year-old Mom is ready to take one for the team.
