I went to a friend's house the other day and noticed that she still had her tree up. I don't judge because trust my Christmas decorations did not come down until mid-January. What I did notice after awhile however was that it was not Christmas ornaments on the tree. She had replaced those with little hearts, red, white and pink lights. It was the cutest thing!

Even though it doesn't fully feel like winter here in West Texas, the truth is, it is. Today for example, I woke up to 30 degrees but it will be 70 by this afternoon. (And I wonder why I have the sniffles*cough*cough) Anyhoo, warm enough to throw on some shorts but way too cold to say, go for a swim! But I have the solution for you...

Look and listen to me right now....menudo and tamales are acceptable year round! There is no question, there is no argument in my opinion. However, if you are asking an old school momma or tia, they will tell you no, it is only for the colder months or you have to wait for Christmas when everyone gets together to make them.
