A Midland entrepreneur and a Tejano music legend are going to be inducted into the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame.

Susie Hitchcock Hall, who owns Susie’s South Forty Confections in Midland has been a long time member of the West Texas community and her treats are known far and wide! Trust, I’ve seen the Texas Trash bags at the supermarket!!! Congrats to her.

And of course, how can we not talk about Selena Quintanilla Perez being inducted as well. About time, right? She put Tejano Music, Mexican Americans and Texans on the map! You go girl!!! Of course, it’s been a huge year for Selena as her wax figure at Madame Toussaud’s is being unveiled at the end of this month, her MAC makeup line is being released in October and she’s getting her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame next year!

The induction ceremony for the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame is going to be on October 21 at the Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas.
