Possible Kidnapping Thwarted At Midland, Texas Gas Station
I feel Midland-Odessa, Texas, has a bad reputation from outsiders who stereotype the people of the Permian Basin as all being rude, mean, or generally not very good people. Before I moved here, I heard stories and people telling me that the general populace was filled with ugly and nasty individuals who only care about themselves. However, from my perspective, that couldn't be any more untrue. I have seen kindness from the people of Midland-Odessa. I even wrote about it. You can see that article 👉here👈.

A popular TikTok is making the rounds on social media, telling the story of 2 men who prevented a possible kidnapping at a local Midland gas station. In the video the woman describes a situation where her husband and his coworker were at a Midland gas station when they saw a man with a girl who was roughly 6 years old. The man and coworker approached the man and saw the girl hysterically crying and saying that she did not know the man she was with. The TikToker says that her husband got in the man's face and took the girl away from him. While the coworker called the police, the man got into a white van and sped off. Shortly afterwards, the mother of the girl came out of the store frantically looking for her daughter. Apparently, the girl was snagged from the women's restroom while she was relieving herself. The TikTok explained that the mother cried and was exceedingly thankful for the TikTokers husband who potentially saved her daughter from being taken.
While this situation ended up with a happy ending, similar situations where children are taken from their parents happen every single day. Best practices is to keep an eye on your children at all times while out in public if possible.
