Odessa, Texas Asks Which Is Better? A DQ Blizzard Or A Wendy’s Frosty?
A friend of mine and I were driving through the streets of Odessa, Texas, and a heated debate over which was better was exchanged between us. A Blizzard from DQ? Or a Wendy's Frosty.

He was adamant that the Blizzard from DQ was far superior to that of Wendy's Frosty. Something that I was in agreement with. However, I made it be known that I felt the Blizzard barely beat the Frosty if the two were to go face-to-face, where he felt the comparison was vast.
That was the point the debate turned into an argument. In his words, Frosty was nowhere near the superiority of the Blizzard- something that I wholeheartedly did NOT agree with. Having said all that, it brought up the question of what the general populace of Odessa, Texas, thinks about the matter.
Wendy's Frosty
Wendy's Frosty has been around since roughly the very beginning of the franchise. It's estimated to have been born around 1969 and has been a staple as part of the franchise's history and it's future. What made it different is the fact that it acts like a hybrid between soft-serve ice cream and a shake. For the majority of its existence, chocolate was the main and only flavor the Frosty came in. However, that changed with the adaptation of additional flavors such as vanilia.
The DQ Blizzard
The Blizzard was created in 1985 when a Missouri franchisee noticed a popular trend in the region, which was a concrete-style custard that was frozen. It resembled ice cream mixed in with additional sides such as candy or other treats. It did not take long for him to convince DQ corporate, where they eventually adopted their own DQ variant, and alas, the Blizzard was born. In its first year, DQ sold $175 million and has been a major part of their brand ever since. It offers more of a variety versus the DQ Blizzard and comes with mix-in's such as Snickers Chocolate, M&M's, and Oreo just to name a few.
