Social Media Dubs Odessa As Ugliest Town In Texas

Recently, a popular TikTok designated the "ugliest towns in Texas".  As you may have guessed, Odessa was named the #1 town in the state that is least visually appealing, leaving some locals fuming.

To some, this comes as no surprise, and guessed Odessa was going to be the number one choice in the video before the video even ended.  In a state that spans almost 800 miles from one end to the other, surely there has to be some other town that is far less attractive.  Right?!?

What exactly is it that gives our small city such a bad reputation?  Could blame be placed on the hard-working blue-collar workers that reside here?  Whether it is oil field workers, long-haul drivers, construction workers, or any other role that involves industrial work, the occupation of residents should not play a role in any judgmental evaluation of our city.  And yet, the correlation always seems to come up when outsiders describe it.  Some might say that this was a harsh and misguided assessment of not only the beauty of Odessa but the region as well. 

Like any other city, there are areas of Odessa that are not very alluring.  However, that is no different from literally every other city on Earth.  Odessa is not devoid of beauty, you just have to know where to go out and find it.  Do you agree with this list?  Was naming Odessa the ugliest town in Texas wrong?  Or was it spot on?
