Midland Subway Owner Busted For Burglary at a Best Buy in Florida
A Midland Subway owner has been arrested and charged with burglary of a Best Buy in Brandon, Florida.
According to the Midland Reporter-Telegram, the Midland Subway co-owner was identified as Liliana Grist who co-owns two Subway locations, one on Longview and another on Midland Drive with Christopher Grist. The two also own a Subway in Andrews.
The charge was her and a partner allegedly tried to break into a Best Buy in Florida from the roof, they were caught in possession of two ropes, 11 duffel bags, and a 64-foot ladder.
Deputies at the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office got an alarm call early Wednesday morning (March 10, 2021) and when they arrived at the Best Buy in Brandon, FL, they found a roof hatch had been opened and after a search of the area found a suspect, Dustin Jay Ammons, trying to hide nearby.
Ammons was in possession of the duffel bags, ladder, and other burglary tools. Grist was found in Ammons' car across the street with an earpiece.
Grist and Ammons were both charged with burglary of an unoccupied structure, possession of burglary tools, and criminal mischief.
Records show Ammons was still being held in the Hillsborough County Jail as of Friday, while Grist had been released on a $6,000 bond.
Ammons was arrested in 2019 for trying to rob a Target in Kyle, Texas and has a long track record of similar burglaries in Texas.
Grist and Ammons reportedly live together in San Antonio according to the arrest record from Hillsborough County.
