The Dallas Cowboys were looking to bounce back from a horrible outing against the San Francisco 49ers. With their pride on the line against their former offensive coordinator, Kellen Moore, the Cowboys clawed their way to a 20-17 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday Night Football.

I have two words for their performance: sloppy and undisciplined. Ok, I guess that's three words. But, you get my drift.

Things didn't get off to a good start as the Cowboys had the ball first and basically looked like they were playing the San Francisco 49ers. The Cowboys couldn't get anything going and were forced to punt on their first drive. After the punt, the Chargers drove down the field and punched it in for a TD.

I honestly thought, "Here we go again".

But, the Cowboys answered with their own TD on an impressive drive capped off by a streaking Dak Prescott for an 18-yard run. Besides that, the offense looked sloppy most of the game. In fact, the whole team seemed to lack discipline as penalties continued to pile up.

Boy, our offense needs a lot of work.

As for our defense, mistakes continued to rob the Cowboys of success as several penalties erased some great plays. However, Dallas did make enough plays to stall some impressive Charger drives.

All in all, it was just a sloppy game for both teams as crucial penalties piled up, and it just seemed the Cowboys didn't have that drive and determination they had in the first 4 games of the season. Not to take anything away from the Chargers, but I just feel our team is just not there yet.

But in the end, it was a testament to our defense's mindset and skill as it took just two plays to end the penalty-infested game. And as sloppy as it was, a win is a win, right?

The Cowboys will have a bye next week to give them plenty of time to fix some of the issues on offense. Let's hope that happens or it's going to be a long season.
