If you've never watched the ABC show The Great Christmas Light Fight, families from all over the country go all out with their Christmas lights. I think I'm doing good with a few strands of lights up at my house for the holidays, but some people spare no expense and leave zero space in their yard and on their house untouched.

For an opportunity to win a $50,000 grand prize, for one lucky San Antonio couple, it all paid off. This year the winner's of The Great Christmas Light Fight were from San Antonio, TX and I can proudly say I have actually visited this home during the holidays 2 years ago!

You talk about an elaborate display! My kids were in awe as we walked through (you can walk it or drive-thru) the Windcrest, TX neighborhood in which all of the neighbors participate. This came recommended to us from a friend who lives in San Antonio and said that we must check it out! It was nothing short of amazing.

Who knew a couple of years later, John and Brenda Wilson, (who won on the Nov. 28th episode) residents of this neighborhood and proud decorators would win the coveted prize of 50 grand! I distinctly remember a gigantic sleigh with Santa and Mrs. Claus sitting waving at all the passers-by.

The candy cane roof, the Peppermint Express train and all of the beautiful yard decorations of the Wilson family deserve every bit of the grand prize and if you ever have the opportunity, I suggest visiting this home and all the others that participate from this small Texas town of Windcrest.
