Midland's 11th Hot Dog Run Returns May 3 With Star Wars Fun

Midland, Texas -- Sunday is May 4, 2025. Typically, May the 4th has been adopted by Star Wars fans around the world as an official Star Wars holiday. This is mainly due to May the 4th sounding eerily similar to the phrase "May the Force Be With You".

For the past 10 years, the Midland Humane Coalition has hosted the Hot Dog Run, a 5k/1 mile walk/run that benefits the coalition. Despite its benefits, the event is filled with fun and quirky perks. Aside from being a great way to get outside and exercise, many attendees also bring along their pets to partake. This is a great bonding experience where pets can get to know other pets in the community.

Pet Costume Contest:

After the race has concluded, there will be a pet costume contest. This portion of the event has become exceedingly popular in recent years. Patrons are encouraged to be as creative as possible. Winners will be judged on 2 categories.

There is a heavy Star Wars influence to this event but dressing your pet up in a Star Wars costume is not mandatory. This is all for fun so, bring your pet dressed up as whatever you want!
