Dive into West Texas’ Favorite Non-Traditional Holiday Movies
I asked West Texans what they consider a Christmas movie that others don't. I love the responses. While some are some of my favorites, others I have never seen.
DIE HARD
I hear this often from all across the United States. My opinion is... I don't have one. I think I watched Die Hard once and can't even remember the movie, oops!
GREMLINS
I always watch Gremlins around the holiday season. Even though it's based around Christmas I never understood why it was never considered a Christmas movie. If Gizmo wearing a Santa hat doesn't make it a Christmas movie then I don't know what will!
BAD SANTA
I'm not going to lie. I am not a fan of Billy Bob Thorton. The movie isn't bad and I would consider it a Christmas movie but I can't get over the sour taste that man gives me. This is why I haven't watched the Landman series yet.
THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS
This isn't a Christmas movie? The Nightmare Before Christmas has "Christmas" in the name. I do believe this is a Halloween movie as well, but Jack Skellington is slaying in his Santa fit and delivering gifts. It can't get any more Christmas than that.
FRIDAY AFTER NEXT
I don't care what anyone says, this is a Christmas movie! If you were to list everything Christmas-related like a guy pretending to be Santa, gifts, decorations, lights, and going broke, then Friday After Next has all of these in the movie.
TRADING PLACES
Don't cancel me! I have never seen this movie. When I looked up the trailer and saw Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd starred in it, I was surprised I hadn't. I am putting this on my holiday movie list this year and maybe it will become one of my Christmas classics.
