Cruel Hoax Angers Midland-Odessa, Texas
Much like the rest of Texas, Midland-Odessa loves the popular gas station Buc-ee's. The brand is well-known for its clean restrooms, food, and overwhelming merchandise selection. Its popularity can easily be compared to a cult-like status.

Having said that, it's understandable that people in the area got excited when a banner sprung up along I-20 that read "Coming Spring 2025" with a Buc-ee's logo on it. A Buc-ee's in West Texas is few and far between with the majority of the Texas locations residing in the central and eastern part of the state.
Unfortunately, it was all a cruel hoax- angering many locals who believed the banner to be true. This may had fooled many people into believing we were going to get a Buc-ee's in the area. On a more practical note, if this were true we would have heard about it many months or even years prior. Another indication would be that a Spring 2025 location would be practically completed by February 2025.
On the bright side, there is a possibility that the Buc-ees brand will catch wind of this outrage and look into possibly moving into the market at some point in the future. A new development in a new market can take years of research and that doesn't even include the time it takes to build the facility. But maybe, just maybe this can possibly get the ball rolling for at least a consideration.
