TREE LIGHT CONTROLLER RECALL

A recall has been issued of about 45,000 Christmas tree light controllers manufactured by Mr. Christmas LLC. The controller has two parts: a lever or switch that is pulled to turn the lights on or off, and a separate white receiver that plugs into an outlet and the lights on the tree. The wireless receiver that plugs into the outlet can overheat, which can cause a fire hazard.

Even though the company Mr. Christmas said there have been no injuries, it has received reports of 10 incidents of overheating with one reporting a fire.

WHERE THE CONTROLLER WAS SOLD

The recalled units were sold online and at Walmart, Target, and Cracker Barrel stores between July and November.

Target sold the controller under the Wondershop™. It has a square on/off switch box with 3 balls, each a different color: red, green, and white with "Tree Lighting Switch" displayed on the controller.

If you bought the product at Walmart or Cracker Barrel it is shaped like a green, red, and white peppermint candy with a candy cane on/off lever and the words "Christmas Light Controller."

MODELS UNDER RECALL

If you bought one of these products check the white wireless receptacle that plugs into the wall for these three recalled model numbers: 39630, 39611, or 39612.
