20 Years Ago Today, the Selena Movie Debuted in Theaters!

Twenty years ago today, the movie Selena about the late, great tejano singer Selena Quintanilla Perez came out in theaters. Unknown at the time, Jennifer Lopez beat out over 20,000 actresses, including well known actress Salma Hayek to play the part of Selena. I remember watching the movie back in the day and being fascinated at just how much of a 'go-getter' one of my favorite singers was!

I've watched the movie a hundred since and will always say the 'washing machine' scene is my favorite! J-Lo has stated that doing a movie about a singer is what helped convince her to do music. And in my opinion, the movie made Jennifer who she is today and us fans are happy about that! Do you love the movie and have you watched it dozens of times like me?
