So I have some bad news for you. We set those clocks back in Texas on November 6th. But there is some possible good news as well.

This will be awesome for people like me who enjoy more daylight during the winter months. But how exactly is this going to happen?

Back in March, the United States Senate passed the "Sunshine Protection Act" that would keep us on this time year-round. This is the furthest the country has come in nearly 40 years to keep us from the dreaded 'fall back' daylight saving time mess.

U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Democrat from New Jersey had this to say back in March about the antiquated time change:

"Do we still need to spring back or fall back in the first place? It's a question that many of us ask every time we have to do it," And it's getting harder and harder to justify."

On December 21st which is considered the shortest day of the year, the sunrise will be at 7:15 am and sunset will be at 4:33 pm. If we stay on the current time the sun will rise at 8:15 am and set at 5:33 pm which is something I would be fine with me. On the longest day of the year, June 21st the sunrise would be at 5:26 am and the sunset will be at 8:29 pm.

So are you ready for extra daylight year-round? Or would you be in favor of keeping it Standard time year-round? I would appreciate the extra sunlight at night, rather than it being dark at 5 pm.
