We are excited to be back with our friends at Amenti Beauty School in Odessa this Wednesday. The last time we hung out with Nancy and our friends at Amenti was July and the students were stlll learning and going through their cosmetology courses.
It may not be something that is known about in our city. When you think about homelessness, you may think it only applies to 'bigger cities,' but unfortunately it is a harsh reality that is here in the Permian Basin as well. According to Newswest 9,
'at this moment, MISD has 270 students enrolled that are identified as homeless and more than 350 who are inactive.'
Even though as of now, we are still unclear, as to how school will resume in the fall, one of the biggest challenges some families faced earlier this year when schools were forced to shut down in the spring because of the COVID pandemic was no access to a computer or internet.
