'Tis the season, yes parents, it is that time of year. We have STAAR testing going on all around the Permian Basin and no matter what age or what our little ones may say, they do still get nervous and anxious about testing. I know mine do whether they let on or not. So in order to relieve their fears and help take a little pressure off of our little ones, here are some tips to help get them prepar

I love this! Encouraging our youth to keep their community beautiful and implementing a little friendly competition and reward them for their efforts even better. The 'Keep Odessa Beautiful Campus Clean-up Rivalry' is underway according to Newswest 9.

We are excited to be back with our friends at Amenti Beauty School in Odessa this Wednesday. The last time we hung out with Nancy and our friends at Amenti was July and the students were stlll learning and going through their cosmetology courses.

It may not be something that is known about in our city. When you think about homelessness, you may think it only applies to 'bigger cities,' but unfortunately it is a harsh reality that is here in the Permian Basin as well. According to Newswest 9, 'at this moment, MISD has 270 students enrolled that are identified as homeless and more than 350 who are inactive.'

Even though as of now, we are still unclear, as to how school will resume in the fall, one of the biggest challenges some families faced earlier this year when schools were forced to shut down in the spring because of the COVID pandemic was no access to a computer or internet.
