Looking for something new to stream this weekend? Here are three brand new titles to watch right now.

Mascots
Streaming now on Netflix

Christopher Guest’s first mockumentary in 13 years dives into the world of sports mascots, where a typically Guestian brood of goofballs, outcast, and misfits all converge at a competition to determine who is the best in the world. The cast of talented improvisers includes Parker Posey, Fred Willard, Chris O’Dowd, Bob Balaban, and Jane Lynch. It’s Guest operating very much in his comfort zone, but the results are not without their charms. (Read my full review from Toronto here.)

Goliath: Season 1
Streaming on Amazon Prime

When I was a kid, David E. Kelley was one of the undisputed kings of network TV, with series like The PracticeAlly McBealChicago Hope, and more. In recent years, most of his work has been eclipsed by the rise of so-called “quality TV” but he could have a new hit on his hands with Goliath, which is new today on Amazon Prime. It finds Kelley going back to his roots in the legal drama genre, and features Billy Bob Thornton as a “burned-out attorney” who gets a chance at redemption in a “wrongful death lawsuit against the biggest client of his former law firm.” The cast also includes Maria Bello, William Hurt, and Olivia Thirlby, and the series runs 10 hour-long episodes.

Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids
Streaming on Netflix

The director of one of the greatest concert movies of all time has a new concert flick on Netflix. The director would be Jonathan Demme; the classic would be the Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense, and his new work is Justin Timberlake + the Tennessee Kids, documenting the final night of JT’s 20/20 tour at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Demme takes the time to introduce the members of Timberlake’s band and backup dancers before getting to the big show, establishing the concert as massive artistic collaboration with one very talented guy at its center. The music ain’t too shabby either.
