The house was famous for being mysterious. People heard about it and would drive by it in Gardendale, Texas. But, just like the mystery that surrounded the house, it is now gone and has been demolished.

The layout and look of this Gardendale house have always been a mystery to those who would drive by it.
Built in 1950, the house was famous for having a mysterious look to it.

• THE UNFINISHED HOME WAS SOMEWHAT OF A TOURIST ATTRACTION
The unfinished home became somewhat of a 'tourist attraction' as many people through the years came by to check it out. The house was constructed almost like a maze with ladders and doors in odd locations.
• MANSION WAS NEVER FINISHED
According to this report, the builder of the house was jeweler, Red Pruett, who was building the house for his family and a possible Jewelry store on sight. He kept adding to the house and never finished it.
• ALL THAT REMAINS NOW IS A VACANT LOT
At one point the property was up for sale for $50,000. But, it has since been taken down and the Mystery House of Gardendale which posed a lot of questions is no more. Now when you drive by all that remains is an empty lot.
